Who is Lena Fine?
Lena Fine is an indie folk/rock musician based in Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Lena began writing music at age 14, taking nods and inspiration from the likes of Soccer Mommy, Pinegrove, and Liz Phair. Moving to Philadelphia when she was 19, she’s spent the past six years sowing seeds and growing roots in the Philly DIY scene. Playing in basements all over the city and graduating to bigger venues like World Cafe Live, The Foundry, and Milkboy, Lena has made the city her stage and grown a close community of collaborators and fans. So far, Lena has had the privilege of opening up for Orchid Mantis, Grace Gardner, and Frances Forever on their respective tours.
With the release of her latest record, Slow Crawl Towards the Sun, Lena finally shared the work and the world she’s spent the past four years of her life in music building. The record is a nine track exploration of her personal sound set to themes of desire, friendship, and all the grief and frustration that come from knowing your worth in the arena of love. A week after releasing Slow Crawl Towards the Sun, Lena temporarily relocated to Madrid, where she spent three months learning the power of music and how it transcends language and playing a handful of shows, both as a headline and a supporting act. She returned to Philadelphia and wrote about her experience in an editorial piece for WXPN. Lena co-headlined a west coast tour with fellow rocker and best friend, Katrina Weissman, in the spring of 2025. She returned to Philly from her adventures and started working on a new project, her forthcoming EP. She recently relocated to Brooklyn, where she is delighting in her new community and working on new music.
““Stucktober” is singable, head-bangable, and irrevocably Lucy Dacus-esque, all while staying true to Fine’s unique indie sensibilities.” - Roni Birchak, WXPN
“(...) inspired by Soccer Mommy’s relatability and Joni Mitchell’s storytelling ability, Lena Fine’s relatable lyrics and dazzling vocals have been compared to that of Lucy Dacus and Julia Jacklin.” - Camille Mola, Positive Publicity
